AMOS After Hours: Conspiracies, Urban Legends, Local Lore

The Asheville Museum of Science's Halloween After Hours is listed as a 21-and-up night of conspiracy theories, urban legends and local lore on Thursday, October 29, 2026, from 6 to 9 p.m. A "Lucky 13" lineup of local experts and groups includes the Brown Mountain Lights, a tin foil hat contest run by the Montford Park Players (judging at 8 p.m.), a broom-making workshop, and a talk from WCU forensic osteology on restoring Riverside Cemetery's gravesites after Helene. Nibbly Onigiri handles food, and there are themed cocktails.
The listing says tickets are $25 online and include one free drink; AMOS has a limited number of $15 income-based tickets by email. Costumes are encouraged, but no full-face masks or weapons. Pre-registration is strongly recommended.
Details, tickets, and any schedule changes are on the official AMOS event page.
