Hair Of The Dog Pet Salon

Hair of the Dog is a cage-free dog grooming, daycare and boarding business on Sweeten Creek Road in South Asheville. Its website says it has groomed dogs here since 1999 and added daycare and boarding in 2008. Grooming runs from full grooms and lighter "neaten" sessions to breed trims, shave-downs and add-ons like color, feathers, bows and mud baths. Quick nail, face and sanitary trims are offered on a wait-with-your-dog basis, booked ahead by phone. Daycare dogs play in groups on a turfed outdoor yard with tunnels, ramps and toys, and the site asks owners to book daycare in advance. For boarding, the website says a staff member stays overnight on site, and new boarders first come in for a short daycare assessment.
