Hawk and Hawthorne

Hawk & Hawthorne is a 50-acre land sanctuary and gathering place on North Fork Road in Barnardsville, at the edge of Pisgah National Forest. Its website describes wildflower meadows, forest paths, permaculture gardens and an intentional community that tends the land. The property hosts weddings, with ceremony sites set around the meadows, gardens and a heritage tobacco barn. The property also hosts concerts in that barn, now used as a listening room, and on a cedar stage inside a standing stone circle that the site says holds up to 500 guests. Retreats, workshops, classes, yoga gatherings, community dinners and seasonal celebrations round out the schedule, and an events calendar on the website lists upcoming shows. The site says visits are by appointment, registration or ticketed event only.
