Barktoberfest is part of Asheville Parks & Recreation's Festival of Frights, a series of Halloween-season events around the city. Bring your dog, in costume, to the dog park at Riverbend Park for contests, interactive fun and special treats.

The city lists it as free and open to all ages, though humans under 14 need to come with an adult.

The full Festival of Frights lineup is on the City of Asheville's Festival of Frights page.
