Costume Swap & Creative Reuse Workshop

Need a costume without buying one? On Saturday, October 17, 2026, from noon to 4 p.m., Asheville Sustainability, Buncombe County and ReMix It AVL host a costume swap and creative reuse workshop at the Stephens-Lee Center. Take a costume, leave a costume, or make a creature craft from recycled materials. The city points out that over 80% of costumes end up in the landfill, so a swap is an easy way to keep one in use.

The city lists it as free and open to all ages, with children under 14 accompanied by an adult. The event is part of Asheville Parks & Recreation's Festival of Frights series.

Details are on the City of Asheville's Festival of Frights page.
