History Hour: The History of Fred Seely's Overlook Castle

The Asheville Museum of History and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) present a History Hour lecture on Tuesday, October 27, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Reuter Center, 300 Campus View Rd. on the UNC Asheville campus, or online via Zoom.
Historian Heath Towson, who runs Mountaineer Motor Tours, speaks about Fred Seely's house on Town Mountain. The listing describes it as a 20,000 square foot castle modeled on England's Forde Abbey and built from the same granite as the Grove Park Inn.
Tickets are $10 general admission (plus fees and taxes), free for OLLI and museum members, and no-cost community-funded tickets are available. The listing says in-person seats are limited and registrants receive a Zoom link by email. Register on the official ticketing page.
