Homicide in the Hotel: A Murder Mystery Event

The Swannanoa Valley Museum & History Center lists Homicide in the Hotel, which it describes as an immersive murder mystery fundraiser set in the 1940s, on Halloween night, Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 7 to 10 p.m.

The museum says guests gather at Peri Social House, 406 W State Street in Black Mountain, to follow clues, meet a cast of characters and work out what happened before time runs out. It lists 1940s post-war attire as encouraged but not required, a welcome champagne and light hors d'oeuvres with the ticket, and a cash bar.

The museum lists tickets at $60 general admission or $50 for museum members, plus taxes and fees, and says character bios are emailed to attendees beforehand. Tickets and refund details are on the official museum page.
