Mike Wiley Productions presents "Changing Same"

Update, October 25: NC Stage and the YMI Cultural Center no longer list this show on their calendars, and its NC Stage page has been taken down, so treat it as off unless the presenters say otherwise.
North Carolina Stage Company and the YMI Cultural Center co-present Changing Same, a solo piece written by Mike Wiley and Howard L. Craft and performed by Wiley. It centers on Private Booker T. Spicely, a Black soldier stationed near Durham, and an incident on a city bus in July 1944, drawing on a story that faded from public memory.
Performances run November 4-15, 2026, at the YMI Cultural Center, 39 S. Market St. in downtown Asheville (not at the NC Stage theatre). Shows are Wednesday through Saturday at 7:30 PM and Sunday at 2:00 PM, and every performance is followed by a Q&A with Wiley. All tickets are general admission.
Wednesday and Thursday tickets are on a sliding scale of $18.50 to $38.50. Friday through Sunday, adult tickets are $38.50 and student tickets are $18.50 (fees included, tax not). See the NC Stage page for tickets and details.
