Misery at NC Stage Company

North Carolina Stage Company presents Misery, William Goldman's stage adaptation of Stephen King's novel, at its downtown theatre at 15 Stage Lane from October 14 through November 1, 2026. A bestselling novelist is rescued after a crash by a devoted reader who offers to nurse him back to health, and the situation turns tense when she discovers where his latest manuscript is headed. The company bills it as a suspenseful thriller with a darkly funny streak.

The run is about 95 minutes with no intermission. The production includes staged violence, a simulated gunshot and strong language, and the theatre recommends it for ages 16 and older. Evening performances are at 7:30 pm (Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, plus Friday, October 16), with 2 pm matinees on Sundays and select Fridays and Saturdays. The lobby opens one hour before showtime.

Tickets, the full schedule and Choose Your Price nights are on the official NC Stage Company page.
