National Gingerbread House Competition Display 2026

The National Gingerbread House Competition began at the Omni Grove Park Inn in 1992 as a small display of houses made by local community members. This is the 34th annual event, and it now draws bakers, artists and families from across the country. Judging and the awards ceremony are on Monday, November 16 and are reserved for contestants and their families.

The public display of the entries opens Tuesday, November 17, 2026 and stays on view at the resort through Sunday, January 3, 2027. The Omni also notes that from October through December, a portion of its parking proceeds goes to local nonprofits in Buncombe County.

Viewing hours and parking details are on the resort's competition page.
