Grove Arcade
A 1928 downtown landmark billed as America's first indoor shopping mall, now full of local shops, makers, and restaurants.

A 1928 Landmark
The Grove Arcade at 1 Page Avenue was built in 1928 by E.W. Grove and calls itself "America's first indoor shopping mall." Today it is downtown Asheville's home for local boutiques, a Makers Market with handcrafted goods, restaurants and cafes, and artist studios, with apartments above.
What to Do
It is a good rainy-day stop. Browse the local shops, grab a coffee at the Grove Arcade location of Summit Coffee, and step outside to the rest of downtown. The arcade lists current hours and events on its website.
